Death Of A Soldier

A table with books of poetry for sale.

Death of soldier listening to my trials and tribulations,

Singing me to sleep in a sweet lullaby's rendition.

I sing into the sleepy moon and it bellows my sweet name,

I run into the wind only to feel the wonders of pain.

I've drifted to sleep upon a bed of nails,

Only to feel my life drifting to from where I hail.

A soldier dies in my arms tonight and its all I can say is true,

I long to hold him again like I once held you.

I drift into a slumber where I know not of candy kissed lips,

I can feel the dread of blood on my hands and a knife in your hip.

The sting of the bullet that pierces you deep inside,

I wish I didn't have to see you this way I'm running away to hide.

Death of a soldier my heart longs to beat with yours in sync,

I don't know what to do anymore my mind can no longer think.

I've left a place of dread and brought it back to right here,

I've left it for another's last breath I hope its what they shall fear.

Death of soldier and death of a long lost friend,

The months and years go by and I wish you were not dead.

I pierced my hands with stings of bullets all flying in the air,

I will wait for death upon me soldier because life isn't all that fair!
